Double Cluster in Perseus

This is not the first time I took pictures of this cluster, but it is the first time I took a lot of exposures to insure I had plenty of data.

These clusters go by multiple names.  First is the Double Cluster so named for obvious reasons that it is two clusters close together in the sky.  As it turns out, they really are close to one another, separated by only a few hundred light-years and both about 7,000 light-years from Earth.   They are also listed in as NGC 869 and NGC 884 or h and chi Perseus.  They were known as non-stellar objects from antiquity and catalogued by Hipparchos in 130 B.C.
