Last week, I took a class on Spring and Hibernate which sounds pretty strange unless you happen to be a Java programmer in which case it makes perfect sense. So this week, I’ve been busy trying to put my new-found knowledge to work at work. Okay, I warned you, boring stuff.

Meanwhile, the basement continues to progress. Painting is mostly done, the new windows are in, larger than the old windows. Disappointingly, they only open about 30-degrees, much less than I had expected. It appears to be an artifact of the scissor-style lever which the crank opens. I had imagined them opening a full 90-degrees which was probably unrealistic. But 30-degrees is tiny. The good news is that rain isn’t likely to come in even with them "wide open," but the bad news is I’m not sure how much air flow we’re going to get.
