Eclipse Prominences

I had a vague idea of trying to merge this with an HDR version of the corona to show the prominences and the corona all at once. Of course, it doesn’t look like that to the naked eye, but hey!

However, the process of aligning the image sets immediately revealed that won’t work. The moon was, of course, moving, so if you align things correctly, the arc of all the prominences lies on a circle around the perimeter of the Sun, which is not the perimeter of the Moon’s shadow, or it is, but it’s on two separate perimeters: the perimeter at 2nd contact and the perimeter at 3rd contact.
